It may have been a dream of yours to walk the iconic Overland Track, Australia’s premier alpine walk. This exhilarating and life-changing journey attracts walkers from across the globe – and now you have the opportunity to undertake this epic journey to help raise much needed funds and awareness for those living with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) in Tasmania.
Over six days you will embrace the challenge of the iconic Overland Track. You’ll see the Fagus turn right before your eyes, retreating each evening to the only private accommodation along the trail. You will discover the rare beauty and diversity of Tasmania’s World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park and be joined by expert guides of Tasmanian Walking Company as they take the lead across this ancient landscape.
Your guides will also take the heavy load, leaving you with a lightweight pack. At the end of each day, retreat to a hot shower, sumptuous meals, freshly baked bread, a glass of Tasmanian wine and a comfortable bed.
The walk departs Cradle Mountain on 29 April 2023. The cost for the guided walk has been discounted by $500 making it $3795 for the all inclusive experience. You can sign up now, pay a deposit to Tas Walking Company and the remainder won’t be due until Feb/March next year.
The effort you will give to this challenge, and the money you will raise, will go an enormous way to raising the profile of arthritis, particularly Juvenile Arthritis and bring Tasmanians ONE STEP CLOSER to the information and support they need to make their journey easier
JIA is one of the most common, as well as serious, persistent medical conditions of childhood. We will raise the profile of the condition and connect those affected by it with the support they need.
Every step you take on this fundraising walk will bring Tasmanians ONE STEP CLOSER to the support and information to lighten the load of their journey.
